shared memory implementation in Kernel 2.4.xx

Hello,

 

We are graduate students working on implementation of dynamic shared memory for the Linux kernal

version 2.4.32. We have found relevant data structures. But we are unable to relate some of the parts(e.g., shmid_kernel

and ipc_id ,and how is the tmpfs file system related to the shared memory). Please help us in this regard.
