question about default_ldt

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hi all:

I read "Understanding the Linux Kernel", it says that the
default_ldt have 5 elements and only two of them are effectively
used by the kernel: a call gate for iBCS executables, and a
call gate for Solarias/x86 executables.

But I cannot find any code about call gate in kernel v2.6.15,
but I can find them in v2.4.x,
Can anyone tell me the usage of default_ldt in v2.6.15?
Why default_ldt has 5 elements? I cannot find any reasons.

thanks
