Hi ,
I made following entry in /etc/syslog.conf
kern.* /var/log/kernel-log
it's putting the messages also ,as well as giving output to console ,that is what
I do not want.

Neeps

Can anybody tell how do we redirect kernel messsages to a file?
By kernel messages I mean by like when we take in/out any plug and play hardware
the messages come on the console.

You can see the messages in /var/log/messages file.
You can redirect it to any other file of your choice by giving the file name in /etc/syslog.conf.

Thanks,
Saumendra
