The best way to start porting kernel to new machine

Hi All,
I have to port kernel 2.6 to new board which is using ARM's CT1136J(F)-S Chip
Tale board, but with many different peripherals (DMA, UART, Timer, SPI, I2C,
etc). I know the architecture is supported by the kernel itself, but but at
least timer/Uart code shold be changed as well the BSP should be created.
Can somebody suggest me the best way to start porting kernel to new machine and
create BSP?
RG
Nik
