Access BIOS data area in Linux

Hi,
Is it possible to read the BIOS data area in Linux. Is there any API's
available in linux to read the content of this area. In our product the
bios sets some value in this area and an application on linux will do
differnt action based on the data being set by the BIOS in the BIOS
data area. Could someone help me .
