Hi, Is it compulsory to have hotplugging support in userspace in order to get a device working if it is plugged at run-time? Not if the necessary modules were built into the kernel I suppose, is that correct? What I want to do is plug-in a USB device, test it or at least inspect it by sysfs or procfs. The reason I don't have hotplugging is that I have a minimal filesystem with a limited shell etc. Many thanks, Bahadir -- Kernelnewbies: Help each other learn about the Linux kernel.
