Hi Jesper, On Tue, Oct 18, 2005 at 12:59:50AM +0200, Jesper Juhl told us: > Hmm, You have quite a few debug options enabled that could increase > size. Try turning off : > > CONFIG_DEBUG_KERNEL > CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ > CONFIG_DETECT_SOFTLOCKUP > CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK > CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK_SLEEP > CONFIG_DEBUG_HIGHMEM > CONFIG_DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE > CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO > CONFIG_DEBUG_FS > CONFIG_EARLY_PRINTK > CONFIG_DEBUG_STACKOVERFLOW > CONFIG_DEBUG_STACK_USAGE > > also try turning off > > CONFIG_IP_ROUTE_VERBOSE > CONFIG_KEYS_DEBUG_PROC_KEYS yes I know but as I've already written I've based my kernel config on an FC4 one, where all those options are enabled, too. After building another kernel yesterday with config based on a FC4 kernel config (which also was really hige in size) I'm now rebuilding a FC4 kernel SRPM. Will take a while, my machine is not the fastest any more :-) Thanks!!
