OK, answering my own email...

I leafed through the book in a bookstore, and it appears thorough and
well-written.

One thing that irritated me was that nowhere did they state what
version of the Linux kernel were they describing. It's obviously a
member of the 2.6 series, but which minor version was left
unmentioned.

P.S. The Safari URL for the book is: http://safari.phptr.com/0131181637
You can try Safari for free for 14 days. (I have no relationship with
either O'Reilly or with Safari.)

You can get the book for 30% off by becoming a Prentice-Hall PTR
member or for 40% via Amazon ... ooops, too late. I just took that
copy ;-)
