Hi, There is a good website that explains about Overcommit and OOM. http://www.win.tue.nl/~aeb/linux/lk/lk-9.html You can also change the main memory size through the boot string (I use grub) to speed up the OOM. For instance, on my laptop with 1GB of RAM memory I put mem=128M to reduce system memory.
