You can malloc() inside an infinite loop... IMHO is good to simulate a memory emergency situation. Hello Friends! I'm studyind some things about VM in Linux, and I was read in other place, that the oom_kill.c is the best point to start. I user space, I'm tried to simulate an "out_of_memory" creating a simple program that call sometimes the funcion malloc (with the swap space desactived), but I I did not have much success. The only form that I obtained an "out_of_memory", was calling the command: "rpm" at the bash shell in a infinite loop (the poor form). ;-) Some suggestion? Thanks!
