Like I said: it depends on the loglevel of the messages. Iptables has
nothing to do with it, iptables is only used to change the netfilter
rules, it doesn't mess with the log level and it doesn't tell syslog
what to do.

If you want to change from what level things are printed on the
console, use dmesg. See "man dmesg".
