Building the kernel question

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all.

I have checked in the kernel to our Clearcase repository. Don't tell me
to use CVS, it's a battle I can't win at this place.

In Clearcase you have these "views" called dynamic views and they don't
let you "touch" a file without checking it out.

What I have noticed is that when I try to "make bzImage" that make
touches all the header files.

Is there a way to tell make NOT to touch the files??

Particulars:

Linux-2.4.21

Steps I do:

make mrproper
cp myconfig .config
make oldconfig
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/home/siribarne/linux-2.4.21/modules
modules_install

Thanks.
