Only spammers have a reason to use HTML mail. You are not a spammer, so
don't use HTML.

Apparently you have been messing with your system, those files don't
dissappear by themselves.

Just use the rescue CD from your distribution. If you know the
partition linux lives on, you can boot the system and repair it.
