Email is not a disjunct set of messages, but is threaded, and mailing lists use this feature to provide a coherent archive. Some email clients (like mutt) also group messages into a thread. When you hit the "Reply" button, it adds information to your outgoing email that tells the rest of the world that it is a reply to that message. Therefore it looks like you're replying to the free memory thread. If you want to start a new thread, do not reply and change the Subject, but actually start a new message. > ******************************************************************************** > Network Programs is a SEI-CMM Level 5 & ISO 9001: 2000 Certified Company > ******************************************************************************** > The information contained in this communication (including any attachments) is > intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed > and others authorized to receive it. It's useless on mailing lists anyway and decreases the signal/noise ratio (which for your messages only is 13%). "The company made me do it" is not an excuse, there are numerous free email services out there you could use. Erik -- Erik Mouw J.A.K.Mouw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx mouw@xxxxxxxxxxxx
