there is no special em64t version of linux. The x86-64 architecture
covers both amd64 and em64t

oh you use RHEL. Yes RHEL3 ships with a kernel tuned for em64t.

nice! Mind giving us a pointer to the source? 
(given that you need to modify/port the driver to various kernels it's
clearly not a driver that came entirely from another OS, and thus a
derived work and GPL)
