Compiling the kernel from Fedora Core3 kernel source RPM

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi ,

I'am using Fedora Core 3 kernel source rpm to
build a custom kernel.

When I install the kernel sources 2.6.9-1.667 rpm,
the location /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES has the files

COPYING.modules
genkey
.....
.....
linux-2.6.9.tar.bz2
linux-2.6.9-vm-tame-oomkiller.patch
linux-2.6.9-xattr-remote-tmpfs-mm.patch
patch2.6.9-final-bk2.bz2
patch2.6.9-final.bz2

Could somebody please let me know an easy way to
compile the kernel from these sources .

Do I need to unzip & apply all the patches (
definitely a pain ) or is there a more convinient
method to get all the sources ready for a build?

The vanilla kernel ( from kernel.org ) is pretty
straightforward to compile.

Thanks !
