broadcom ethernet driver

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hi all
Iam using red Hat 9 and the kernel version -2.4.20-8
Ethernet driver :Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
As the OS did not detect the card,I found the driver in the net and installed and everything was fine.........until,I had to apply mqueue patch to the kernel.
So after applying the patch:
make dep
make bzImage
cp the bzImage to the /boot directory
added a new entry in the grub.conf

When I boot with this new kernel image, there will be a message saying :bcm440 device eth0 does not seem to be present
from the system settings if I try to activate eth0 ,it gives an error message!
what might've gone wrong!
Cud anybody give me some suggetions
thanks in advance
regards
suma
