What "no cpio magic" message means ?

Looking into the log buffer I see:

image is initra  mfs...it isn't (no cpio magic);
looks like an initrd.<4>Freeing initrd memory: 202k freed

Kernel command line: console=ttyCPM0,115200 panic=3 root=/dev/ram debug log_buf_len=128 KB

What "no cpio magic" message means ?
