Ok Arjan, OOI what's changed so much in FC3 that you can't boot a 2.4
kernel any more? I'd expect a lot of stuff to break - udev, SELinux
policy loading, etc. but it won't boot even to a simple gdm session?

He's probably reading LDD2 and wants to try out the examples. Or
something like that. Actually it is still quite common to use 2.4
until books on 2.6 are more common.
