Will the offset of a particular data in /proc/kcore be same as it physical address in a driver ?
My objective:
I am allocating memory in a driver using kmalloc(...,GFP_KERNEL).
I initialize the memory to some magic value.
Now I check the memory address of the data by doing "od -t x4 /proc/kcore | grep <magic number>" and checking the offset. Will they
match ?
Any help will on this will be appreciated. I cannot use a debugger at the moment. Hence this crude way of checking using kcore...
