ideally, i would have the following to help debugging:

CONFIG_DEBUG_SLAB=y and 
CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER=y

you can also use something like this:

gcc -c file.c -g -Wa,-a,-ad  > file.s

to get a mixture of c and assembly output (which might be more helpful)
