integrated copy/checksumming in TCP

I presume that TCP does an intergrated copy/checksum.
Is there any literature out there, that brings about
the performance figures of intergrated
copying/checksumming for TCP...are the overheads of
checksumming COMPLETELY eliminated in current linux
TCP implementations?
