yup. i am having the same problem and have resorted to "manually"
deleting the generated objects (just like you are mentioning).  the
only way i could make it work was if the module was part of the main
kernel tree :o(

i vaguely remember reading some messages related to this on either
lkml or kbuild-devel, but i am not sure.

can you please post this message to kbuild-devel also ?
