Re: getting hardware details - pls help

Ofcourse, I know lspci. But then , it'll list only the PCI devices. Ofcourse, one can try always cat /proc/ioports, cat /proc/interrupts etc. But what I want to know is, how to get the details of the hardware, like the name of the device, version no., some basic details like that. I just want to know what PIC (8259 or some other) my system uses. I think there is no way to get such details from the software. Even if /proc provides some details, it limits itself only to certain categories I feel.
