Linux never swaps out process' page tables. But if a page table(cover 4M process address space) has not been touched for a long while , it seems reasonable to swap out the page table.

Hi Richard:

I don't think the pages of the page tables in RAM will ever be swapped
because, it is part of the functionality of the kernel. The kernel
uses these pages and hence it will be like swapping the kernel itself,
which is not the case.
