Hi Manoj,

The very simple answer for ur query is
to start the service as given below.

# service network start
       or
#/etc/init.d/network start

I know u will not be satisfied with this. :)
Just google for "Linux Device Drivers" of
Alessandro Rubini. Its a good book.
