hi all,
i recompiled the kernel (ver: 2.4.18-3 ) and when i try to boot up the recompiled kernel, it comes up , but i
cant see any modules loaded, and can see an error mesg ( shown below) when the kernel is coming up.
May 25 13:00:12 amith depmod: Can't open /lib/modules/2.4.18-3custom/modules.dep for writing
i dont see a directory named /lib/modules/2.4.18-3custom ? why is depmod looking there ?
and when i do a lsmod , i dont see any modules loaded :-( !
i cant ping any machine and the interface "eth0" cannot be activated .
any help is appreciated.
