RE: how to apply ARM patch over kernel source

Thanks for the warning :) but i really intend to use it
for testing purpose only.
also if i get the vanilla version do i have to get all th rmk patches
i.e from 1 to 7 and apply them????

NOTE:
my primary purpose for applying the ARM patch is so that i have
functionalities like "register_uart_driver", "uart_driver" etc.
available in my kernel which i cud use for writing a serial port
driver(again test purpose only!!). I've heard all this is available
in the 2.5 and 2.6 versions but also heard that they r a tad bit
difficult to work with. time is at a premium for me, so what do
u all suggest

rmk's patch is for vanilla 2.4.18 not for the Red Hat one.
In either case you really should reconsider and NOT run 2.4.18; a
significant amount of serious security issues and other bugs have been
fixed since.
