brk syscall from module ?

I plan to use sys_brk from a lkm an I would like to have some expert opinions
about the potential (and/or eventual) problems with that.

Some time ago I read a hacking guide which illustrated such operation in order
to get an extra space in the user data stack to put certain information and
then, use some syscall pointing to this space. Well, it sounds tricky and
definately ugly.

Which other alternatives we could apply to have the functionality of a
syscall if most of the useful kernel functions are not exported ??

 Regards.
 Pedro.
