unused pte bits (i386 no PSE)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi. The Pentium manuals, the kernel sources, and Mel Gorman's
_Understanding the Linux VM Manager_, all seem to indicate that bits
9, 10, and 11 of the pte are unused by hardware and by the kernel and
are available for me to use in my kernel extension.

I sure could use a bit. Can anyone confirm or deny that those bits
really are unused?
