Dear Marco,
Thanks for your relpy.Yes,kmonte.o is loaded on linux-2.2
To test it , I runned monte with the same bzImage that is there in
/boot that resulted a blank screen.
Any thing went wrong?

Let me tell you the primary goal for me, I need a Secondary Boot
Loader for my x86 board, Which even helps a layman to update the
entire image in the box.
As a temporary solution ,I thought to have a minimal linux to act as
a bootloader for my linux. So I used kernel monte. Anything better
than kmonte or SBL for this type of need?

Did you already know about kexec?

  http://www.osdl.org/archive/andyp/kexec
  http://www.osdl.org/archive/andyp/kexec/whitepaper/kexec.html

It's in the OSDL-patched kernels, and it works for me. I use it to
reduce reboot time when doing kernel hacking. Maybe it could be
useful to you.
