Hi friends,

Can anyone explain the difference between kmalloc and vmalloc?
my understanding is as follows;

kmalloc allocates memory from the kernel addr space.i.e allocates memory from what has already been given to the kernel?
what does vmalloc do differently (since it uses kmalloc .)?

thanks in advance.all help is appreciated.
