Unable to have internet

Hello,

I have Mandrake 9.1 on my computer that I bought last december.
My version of linux is 2.4.21-0.13 mdk (unstable).
And I cannot have internet or ping to the ethernet card, however my ethernet card (SiS900) is recognized (the module sis900 is attributed). I tried an old 10 Mb/s ethernet card and the problem was the same.
I suspect that is because some chipsets are not reconized (no module are attributed to the chipsets SiS648 (Host-to-PCI), SiS963 (PCI to ISA bridge), 5591/5562 (AGP)).
Does the kernel 2.4.21 or the 2.6 when it will be out resolve that problem ?

All my greetings,

Jonas
