My problem is solved looking at the example in Kernelnewbies website. It was a problem with specifying compile line params.

The kernelnewbies.org website has an example makefile and module that you may wish to steal liberally from.

The best help I can give .. when trying to get technical help, the formula to follow is: (a) tell what you did (b) tell what you expected (c) tell what actually happened
And, the best rule of all -- cut-n-paste of actual input and output helps immensely. :)
