Can you rm the module files at runtime and reclaim the storage space
that way? Of course, you'll not be able to unload/reload the modules,
which is unfortunate, but if you keep a second copy on a second ramdisk,
you could mount, load, and umount that second disk... assuming you have
the original storage space in the first place for two copies.

(Or, if the system doesn't need the modules to boot to the point of
mounting new ramdisks, you could just put them on a second ramdisk to
begin with...)
