VM_MAYREAD & VM_READ

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hi,

whats the difference between VM_READ and VM_MAYREAD flags ;

VM_READ indicates that this Virtual Memory Area can be read from, thats fine.

the only information that i could get about VM_MAYREAD is that ..

"The flags VM_MAYREAD and VM_MAYEXEC track what maximum protections
are available via mprotect"

didn't understand what that means. could anyone help.?

TIA,
	john
