Here I am giving the solution..
1) Go to /usr/src/linux directory...
2) type make menuconfig
3) Go to Networking options
4) go to Ethernet menu & select(Enable)that RTL 8139 option...
once its enabled then save & exit & then reboot your system..you will find
the ethernet up ....

i am using RH linux 7.1 ..and i had replaced kernel from 2.4.2 to
2.4.5...everything works fine except lan card..when i boots up my system i
am getting error:
Bringing up interface lo [ OK ]
Bringing up interface eth0 Delaying eth0 initialization.
[ FAILED ]
even i had tried..

[root@localhost init.d]# ./network start
Bringing up interface lo [ OK ]
Bringing up interface eth0 Delaying eth0 initialization.
[ FAILED ]

i am using Realtek 8139 ethernet card....Please help me urgently
