performance counters is the same as msrs.  It's the same as when you are
doing an rdtsc, you're really just reading a msr.  However, the msr
description written in system developer's manual v3 is so convoluted, I'm
having a hard time trying to understand which cccr, escr msrs need to
be set in order to count the number of memory accesses.  Maybe this isn't
the right place to ask...  Oh well, thanks anyway.
