Hi, I am running a simple script that copies some stuff from some /proc files, and from a file on a ramdisk. 2.4.16 kernel. Each activation of the script increases inode_cache and dentry_cache (according to /proc/slabinfo), thus lowering the free memory (according to /proc/meminfo). Eventually, the machine practically remains memory-less and becomes un-usable. I've see discussions of problems that seem to be related, but could not find anything specific. I was hoping to find a patch I can at least try, but couldn't find one. Upgrading the entire kernel is currently not an option for me. Any hints ? -- Kernelnewbies: Help each other learn about the Linux kernel. Archive: http://mail.nl.linux.org/kernelnewbies/ FAQ: http://kernelnewbies.org/faq/
