creating shared memory in init

Hi everybody

I was wondering if it is possible to create a shared memory of relatively
huge size (say 32MB) in init? I tried once, and the whole system crashed. I
don't know the reason . Also, I am not sure where in init I called the
module to create the shared memory.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks!
Charumathi Krishnan.
