hi,
i have some set of questions.please answer my
questions.
1) How many page tables are created at the boot
time ? ( i.e how many temporary page tables are created at the boottime
?)
In one article they told pg0 and pg1 but in the
'Understanding Linux Kernel' book they told only pg0.
Which one correct ?
2) what is the use of the empty_zero_page in
the boottime? Why we use it in the pagetable initialization ( ie when
CONFIG_X86_PAE is enabled)?
3) Can u give me a pictorial representation for
node, zone and page ? I cannot understand what is node and zone in i386
.
4) what is the use of the kmap() ? why we reserve
some space( 1GB - 896MB ) at the end of the page initialization
?
what is the use of that ?
5) I want to know what will occur if i am having
128MB RAM ? where it is mapped ?
regards
mcen.
