yes the numbers are the same. i changed the
irq to 9 in the bios.
the irq and the i/o ports are now exactly the
same as in win2000 but i don't get any sounds yet.

now i don't think the sound card's resources
are the  culprit.

my sound card is intel8x0. i also
posted the same problem in alsa ml
but so far nobody's replying yet :(
