     John,

      Thank you and Erik's great help.    Just one more question.   You 
mentioned early that one can build a static sysctl table instead of 
using /proc approach for reading /proc, and you also mentioned kernel 
source examples and your module oprofile for that.   I am wondering you 
could point out the URL or concrete location.
