I can confirm this (I also add FW rules using only the nft tool).

# cat /etc/issue
Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid \n \l

# iptables --version
iptables v1.8.3 (nf_tables)

# nft --version
nftables v0.9.0 (Fearless Fosdick)

# uname -r
5.1.16-amd64-morficzny+
