Well, in a way, but sometimes it could be useful to do layer-2 filtering
on normal ethernet interfaces too. Ebtables has INPUT and OUTPUT chains,
so it is not only for bridged traffic. Hasn't anybody ever created a
bridge with only one interface just in order to be able to use ebtables
on this interface ?
