Rulesets fro Internal & External Interface.

Hi everybody,

I have some questions:

1. If a computer has two NICS, one connected to the Internet and the
other towards the private LAN, is it necessary & possible to write
different INPUT/OUTPUT rules concerning the individual
interfaces?

To note: I am thinking of assymetric rulesets.
