Dear all,

the "father of netfilter", Rusty Russell, has just given a keynote at
the 20th anniversary of linux.conf.au. In this keynote, he covers his
personal journey into Free Software and Linux, his work on ipchains and
netfilter/iptables, the starting of linux.conf.au and the source of his
motivation and continued success:

For those of you who want to know more about the early days of
netfilter/iptables, or catch a glimpse of the personality of its
founder, the keynote is an excellent resource.

It was great working with Rusty in the early years of netfilter,
and I'm very happy to see that his "constructive absentism" approach
has worked out so well. Cheers to Pablo and the current team of
developers for continuing his legacy :)

Happy hacking,
	Harald

architectural error that shows how much experimentation was going
on while IP was being designed." -- Paul Vixie
