NASA Announces a New Challenge at World Maker Faire

NASA will announce a new challenge to engage the public in the agency’s journey to Mars Saturday, Sept. 20, at the World Maker Faire in New York City. NASA Chief Technologist David Miller will announce the details of the new challenge during a talk in the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

NASA also is rolling out a new website for all agency challenges called NASASolve, which goes live Sept. 19. NASASolve will feature information on this latest challenge and provide information on all other current challenges.

The agency will host a booth at Maker Faire to highlight other ways citizen scientists and makers can get involved with NASA, including Centennial Challenges, the NASA Cubesat program, a 3D printer challenge, and the Asteroid Grand Challenge.

Other NASA talks at the World Maker Faire are:
-- Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. - Beyond the Challenges
-- Sept. 21 at noon - NASA Launching Your Small Satellites
-- Sept. 21 at 12:30 p.m. - 3D Printing in Space: The Next Frontier
