NASA Extends Mechanical Systems Engineering Services Contract

NASA has awarded the Mechanical Systems Engineering Services II/A (MSES II/A) Bridge contract extension for engineering services to Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT), Inc., Greenbelt, Maryland. This extension is necessary to continue performance and critical mission support until the follow-on contract is awarded.

The cost-plus-fixed fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity value of this contract extension is $145 million that includes $110 million for the base period and $35 million for a four-month option to extend the period of performance. The total contract value, including the four-month option, is $430 million.

With this contract extension, the effective ordering period for issuing task orders is extended through May 31, 2015, with a four-month option to extend the effective ordering period for issuing task orders through Sept. 30, 2015.

Under this extension, SGT will continue to provide support in acquiring engineering and related services for the formulation, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification and operations of space flight and ground system hardware and software. Contract work also includes development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions. The engineering areas of emphasis are multidisciplinary.  Areas of concentration include mechanical engineering of materials and structural analysis.

SGT will support the Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate, Mechanical Systems Division and Instrument Systems and Technology Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland.
