NASA Administrator to Tour Aerojet Rocketdyne in California

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and Scott Seymour, Chief Executive Officer of GenCorp, will provide an update about the work being done at the Aerojet Rocketdyne facility in Rancho Cordova, California, to support NASA’s vision for the future during a media availability at 11 a.m. PDT Monday, June 30.

Media interested in attending the media briefing should RSVP by 8 a.m. Friday, June 27, to Jessica Pieczonka of Aerojet Rocketdyne at 916-355-3178, or via email at jessica.pieczonka@xxxxxxxxxx.

Aerojet Rocketdyne, a subsidiary of GenCorp, has provided propulsion systems for every NASA human spaceflight program and for many of the agency’s planetary missions. This year, rocket motors manufactured at the Rancho Cordova site were used in multiple defense and science mission launches. The site also houses testing for thrusters that NASA’s next-generation Orion spacecraft will use to carry astronauts to deep space destinations, including an asteroid and Mars.
